A day after Prince Harry of England and married American Meghan Markle in a ceremony that made almost all of England stop, Buccaneers royalty, quarterback Jameis Winston, has announced that he’s engaged.
Winston broke the news himself on social media Sunday Morning:

Winston is making it official with his long time girlfriend, Breion Allen, but did not specify a date, as of yet. The couple is expecting a baby boy sometime around July, just before the Buccaneers begin training camp. Winston made the announcement of the pending new edition and gender earlier in Feburary, on Instagram:
Speaking of commitments, Winston, who turned 24 in January, is entering a critical year early in his Buccaneers career. This, as the franchise, has to make a decision on a long term deal that will be worth in excess of $150 million, with a good portion guaranteed.
However, Tampa Bay already picked up the fifth year option on Winston’s original 2015 rookie contract. That means that Winston will be guaranteed to make over $20 million for 2019.
There’s also the matter of an NFL investigation hanging over Winston and the Buccaneers. There’s still nothing definitive one way or the other after an allegation last fall from a female Uber driver in Arizona surfaced. She told her employer that Winston improperly touched her in the front seat of the vehicle in March of 2016.
Uber took action and banned Winston permanently from using their service, but the accuser never filed criminal charges or a civil complaint. However, when her allegation was made public last November, the NFL jumped in under its personal conduct policy.
Winston maintains his innocence and says that former FSU teammate and now, Eagles DB Ronald Darby, can verify from being in the car that night that nothing happened.
Again, until the NFL either rules or clears Winston, there’s still the possibility that he can be suspended under the policy, even without charges being brought.
Finally, it’s not clear if Winston intends to marry Allen before the birth of the child. Obviously, once July comes for an established star NFL player, any pending nuptials would likely wait until next February or later.
We will see on that.
