Bears front runner for Bucs Backup QB Mike Glennon?

It appears for all intents and purposes that Mike Glennon will not elect to re-sign with the Buccaneers prior to being able to be an unrestricted free agent officially on Thursday.

And, now that as of noon Tuesday teams could begin to “legally tamper” (yes, that’s the NFL’s own term) with players who will be free agents on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. Eastern, Glennon is going to to get offers for the chance to be a starter somewhere.

We have written on F.F.I. on this subject, and now it’s about to be negotiation frenzy with the former N.C. State star being a prime target at the QB position.

This morning on NFL media insider Ian Rapoport reported this:

The Bears will likely move on anytime now from Jay Cutler, who they don’t owe anymore guaranteed money to, but still will count, significantly as “dead cap money.”

Is Glennon going to get the huge $12-14 or maybe more, million dollar offer from them? Will teams like the Jets, the Bills and others join in?

They would be offering the opportunity to start, which Glennon has wanted for the last two years while waiting behind Jameis Winston in Tampa Bay.

Time to see what the market is for Glennon and many others, as the mayhem of NFL Free Agency unfolds.
